Misc. links, September 2012

Posted on 01/10/2012

The harvest of interesting internet offerings of last month:

  • Social media strike again: an invitation to a birthday party of a 16-year old girl, accidentally(?) made public on Facebook, draws thousands to a small Dutch town, culminating in large-scale rioting, looting, and other violence. Here‘s a nice visualization of the hype gathering momenum on twitter.
  • An article in Nature predicts future success of (neuro-) scientists using their h-indexes.
  • Social science 2.0: the already much-debated 61 million person experiment conducted on Facebook, as published in Nature.
